SIR Identification Views

The SIR Identification Views shown below illustrate the approximate location of all SIR components available for the vehicle. This will assist in disabling and enabling the SIR system, refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Service and Repair.

Sierra/Silverado





1 - Right Front Impact Sensor-Located on the front frame crossmember.

2 - Battery-Gas-Located under the hood, right rear engine compartment.

3 - Passenger Instrument Panel Air Bag-Located at the right front of the instrument panel cluster (IPC).

4 - Passenger Air Bag Disable Switch-Located inside instrument panel (I/P) storage compartment.

5 - Right Front Side Impact Sensor-Located under the right front door trim near the lower rear of the door frame.

6 - Passenger Seat Position Sensor-Located on the right front outboard seat track.

7 - Passenger Presence System (PPS)-Located under the right front seat mounted to the seat frame.

8 - Passenger Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner-Located on the right front B Pillar.

9 - Right Rear Side Impact Sensor-Located under the right rear door trim near the lower rear of the door frame.

10 - Passenger Seat Side Air Bag-Located on the seat back of the passenger seat.

11 - Right Roof Rail Air Bag-Located under the headliner.

12 - Passenger Seat Belt Tension Sensor-Located on the inboard lower seat belt buckle.

13 - Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM)-Located under the center console.

14 - Left Roof Rail Air Bag-Located in the headliner.

15 - Driver Seat Side Air Bag-Located on the seat back of the driver seat.

16 - Left Rear Side Impact Sensor-Located under the left rear door trim near the lower rear of the door frame.

17 - Driver Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner-Located on the left front B Pillar.

18 - Driver Seat Position Sensor-Located on the left front inboard seat track.

19 - Left Front Side Impact Sensor-Located under the left front door trim near the lower rear of the door frame.

20 - Driver Steering Wheel Air Bag-Located on the steering wheel.

21 - Inflatable Restraint I/P Module Indicator (Passenger AIRBAG ON/OFF)-overhead console.

22 - Battery-Diesel-Located under the hood, left front engine compartment.

23 - Left Front Impact Sensor-Located on the front frame crossmember.

24 - Center Front Impact Sensor-Located on the front frame crossmember.
