Turbocharger Installation




1. Install the turbocharger air inlet adapter bracket (3).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the turbocharger air inlet adapter bracket nut (2) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

3. Install the turbocharger air inlet adapter (1) and loosely tighten the holding clamp (4).




4. Install the turbocharger oil feed pipe (3).

5. Install the turbocharger oil feed pipe eye bolt (1) and washers (2). Tighten the eye bolt to 35 Nm (26 lb ft).




6. Install the turbocharger lower heat shield (1).




7. Install the turbocharger assembly (2) with the oil feed pipe, oil return pipe and cooling return pipe.

8. Install the turbocharger mounting bolts (1) and tighten to 78 Nm (58 lb ft).

9. Install the turbocharger cooling return pipe bolt (3) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




10. Rotate the air inlet adapter until the tab (2) contacts the air inlet adapter tube bracket (1).

11. Tighten the air inlet adapter holding clamp to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




12. Install the turbocharger cooling return pipe (2) and the turbocharger cooling return hose (1).

13. Install the turbocharger cooling return pipe bolts (3) and (4) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).





Note: Lubricate the washers with diesel fuel before installing.

14. Install the oil supply line eye bolt (1) and washers (2). Tighten the turbocharger oil feed pipe eye bolt to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).




15. Install the turbocharger heat shield (2).

16. Install the turbocharger upper heat shield bolts (1) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




17. Install the fuel feed and return pipes assembly (2).

18. Install the fuel feed and return pipes assembly bolts (1) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
