Circuit/System Verification
1. Ignition ON.
2. Verify DTC B356A is not set.
• If the DTC is set
Refer to DTC B356A B356A
• If the DTC is not set
3. Verify the lane departure warning indicator turns ON and OFF while pressing and releasing the lane departure warning switch.
• If the indicator does not turn ON and OFF
Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
• If the indictor turns ON and OFF
4. All OK.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, and all vehicle systems OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S48D Multifunction Switch 2 - Instrument Panel. It may take up to 2 minutes for all vehicle systems to power down, ignition ON.
2. Test for 6.2-10.9 V between the PWM reference circuit terminal 3 and ground.
Note: Verify interior lighting dimming is turned all the way up.
• If less than 6.2 V
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module.
2. Test for infinite resistance between the PWM reference circuit and ground.
• If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
• If infinite resistance
3. Test for less than 2 ohms in the PWM reference circuit end to end.
• If 2 ohms or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
• If less than 2 ohms, refer to Interior Backlighting Malfunction Interior Backlighting Malfunction.
• If greater than 10.9 V
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module, ignition ON.
2. Test for less than 1 V between the PWM reference circuit and ground.
• If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
• If less than 1 V, refer to Interior Backlighting Malfunction Interior Backlighting Malfunction.
• If between 6.2-10.9 V
3. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal 2 and the PWM reference voltage circuit terminal 3.
4. Verify the test lamp turns ON and OFF when commanding the Vehicle Direction Camera Indicator Status parameter ON and OFF with a scan tool.
• If the test lamp is always OFF
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K109 Front View Camera Module, ignition ON.
2. Test for less than 1 V between the control circuit and ground.
• If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
• If less than 1 V
3. Ignition OFF.
4. Test for less than 2 ohms in the control circuit end to end.
• If 2 ohms or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
• If less than 2 ohms, replace the K109 Front View Camera Module.
• If the test lamp is always ON
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K109 Front View Camera Module.
2. Test for infinite resistance between the control circuit and ground.
• If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
• If infinite resistance, replace the K109 Front View Camera Module.
• If the test lamp turns ON and OFF
5. Test or replace the S48C Multifunction Switch 1 - Instrument Panel.
