EGR Temperature Sensor: Description and Operation

This sensor is located at the EGR valve and measures the temperature of the gas which was recirculated through the EGR valve. The sensor converts a change in the exhaust gas temperature into a voltage input that is sent to the ECM. As exhaust gas temperature lowers, resistance increases and as exhaust gas temperature rises, resistance decreases, thus varying the voltage input to the ECM.
