Backup Lamp: Description and Operation

Circuit Operation

Whenever the ignition switch is in either the "ON" or "START" position, battery voltage is applied through the turn back Fuse to the backup lamp switch (Manual Transmission) or the transmission position switch (Automatic Transmission). When the manual selector is placed in "R", the switch closes and battery voltage is applied to the Backup Lamps in the rear combination lamps. The rear combination lamps are permanently grounded at G402.
