Compressor Clutch Coil

Tool Required:

J 41384 Clutch Plate Holder/Remover
J 39200 Digital Multimeter

Remove or Disconnect

1. Compressor assembly from vehicle.

2. Compressor clutch.

Clutch Coil Wiring Retainer And Bolt:

3. One screw and clutch coil wiring retainer from compressor housing.

4. Clutch coil from compressor.

Inspect
^ Pressure plate for excessive wear and scoring. Replace if necessary.
^ Compressor clutch pulley for excessive wear and scoring. Replace if necessary.

Inspecting Compressor Clutch Coil Resistance:

Measure
^ Clutch coil resistance using tool J 39200. Specifications: 2.9 to 3.8 ohms at 20°C (68°F). Replace if coil is not within specifications.

Install or Connect

1. Clutch coil to compressor.

2. Clutch coil wiring retainer to compressor housing; secure with one screw.

Tighten
^ Clutch coil wiring retainer bolt to 2.0 to 2.5 N.m (17.7 to 22.12 lb. in.).

3. A/C compressor clutch pulley to compressor.
