FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT
PRELIMINARY STEPS
^ Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to Service and Repair / Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
^ Raise and suitably support vehicle.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. One bolt and fuel feed inlet hose from fuel filter.
2. One bolt and fuel feed outlet hose from fuel filter.
3. Two bolts and fuel filter mounting bracket from underbody.
4. One bolt and fuel filter from fuel filter mounting bracket.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Fuel filter mounting bracket-to-fuel filter; secure with one bolt. Tighten fuel filter mounting bracket-to-fuel filter bolt to 20 Nm (15 lb. ft.).
2. Fuel filter mounting bracket to underbody; secure with two bolts. Tighten fuel filter mounting bracket bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb. ft.).
3. Fuel feed outlet hose to fuel filter; secure with one bolt. Tighten fuel feed inlet hose-to-fuel filter bolt to 35 Nm (26 lb. ft.).
4. Fuel feed inlet hose to fuel filter; secure with one bolt. Tighten fuel feed inlet hose-to-fuel filter bolt to 35 Nm (26 lb. ft.).
^ Lower vehicle.
5. Negative (-) battery cable. Tighten negative (-) battery cable-to-negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 15 Nm (11 lb. ft.).
AFTER REPAIR CHECK
Turn ignition switch to "ON" and then back to "LOCK" to pressurize the fuel system. Check for any fuel leaks.
