The front suspension is the strut type independent suspension. The upper end of a strut is secured to the body by a strut support. The lower end of the strut is connected to the upper end of a steering knuckle. The lower end of the knuckle is attached to the stud of a ball joint which is part of the suspension control arm and the steering knuckle is connected to the tie rod end.
The rotary motion of the steering wheel is carried to the steering upper shaft, lower shaft, steering gear and pitman arm. As the pitman arm is moved, the center link moves linearly, actuating the tie rod and turning the wheels through the knuckle arms, Fig. 1.
