Install or Connect

Install or Connect
1. Instrument panel to vehicle.
2. Push instrument panel to support member.
3. Three screws along top of instrument panel.
4. Two front speaker grills and instrument panel upper center cover.
5. Left and right screws at bottom of instrument panel compartment support.
6. Two right side instrument panel support beam bolts and cover.
7. Two left side instrument panel support beam bolts and cover.
8. One screw on bottom left side of instrument panel.
9. Instrument panel support beam screw at left side.
10. Instrument panel harness electrical connectors.
11. Heater control unit to instrument panel; reconnect blower switch electrical connector.
12. Mode control cable:
A. Move mode control lever to vent.
B. Attach mode control cable to control assembly with 0 to 1 mm (0 to 0.039 inch) of cable projecting from clamp.
C. At heater case, push door (damper) linkage fully upwards (clockwise) to affix cable and rod into position.
13. Temperature control cable:
A. Move temperature control lever to cool.
B. At heater case, push door (damper) fully downwards (counterclockwise) to affix cable into position.
14. Fresh/recirc cable:
A. Move fresh/recirc lever to fresh.
B. Install cable at heater case.
15. Three electrical connectors and speedometer cable to instrument cluster assembly.
16. Instrument cluster assembly to instrument panel; secure with four screws.
17. Instrument cluster bezel to vehicle; secure with four screws.
18. Steering column.
19. Knee bolster to instrument panel; secure with two bolts.
20. Knee bolster trim panel; secure with four screws.
21. Radio; secure with four screws and two electrical connectors.
22. A/C switch electrical connector (if equipped).
23. Center trim bezel, including ashtray guide, to instrument panel; secure with four screws.
24. Heater control unit illumination bulb socket.
25. Heater control unit face plate to center trim bezel; press until it snaps in place.
26. Heater control unit knobs.
27. Ashtray to ashtray guide.
28. Power/Normal switch electrical connector (if equipped with 4speed A/T).
29. Console; secure with two screws and two plastic retaining clips.
30. Parking brake lever bezel; secure with two plastic clips, two screws and rear power window switch electrical connectors (if equipped).
31. Passenger side SIR module; secure with two screws and 3 bolts.

Tighten
^ Passenger side SIR module bolts to 23 Nm (16.5 lb ft).
^ Passenger side SIR module screws to 5.5 Nm (48.6 lb in).

32. flood release handle to instrument panel, secure with two screws.
33. Two plastic hinge pins and instrument panel compartment.
34. Enable the SIR. Refer to Enabling the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System.
35. Negative (-) battery cable.
