Hazard Flasher Relay: Service and Repair
Turn/Hazard Relay, Horn Relay, Or Headlamp Relays 1 And 2 Location:
The location of the turn/hazard relay depends on the date of vehicle production:
^ On vehicles produced before December 4, 1995, the turn/hazard relay is mounted on a bracket which is bolted onto the blower case.
^ On vehicles produced on and after December 4, 1995, the turn/hazard relay is mounted on a bracket which is bolted onto the right-hand side of the heater case.
Vehicles Produced Prior to December 4,1995
Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Two screws securing turn/hazard relay mounting bracket to the blower case.
IMPORTANT
^ Refer to Power and Ground Distribution for proper identification of the turn/hazard relay.
3. Turn/hazard relay electrical connector.
4. Slide turn/hazard relay off mounting bracket.
Install or Connect
1. Slide the turn/hazard relay Onto mounting bracket.
2. Turn/hazard relay electrical connector.
3. Turn/hazard relay mounting bracket to blower case; secure with two screws.
4. Negative (-) battery cable.
Vehicles Produced on and after December 4, 1995
1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Pull out instrument panel compartment while pushing its stopper from both left and right sides.
3. Two screws and relay mounting bracket from heater case
IMPORTANT
^ Refer to Power and Ground Distribution for proper identification of the turn/hazard relay.
4. Turn/hazard relay from mounting bracket by releasing locking tab.
5. Turn/hazard relay electrical connector and remove turn/hazard relay from vehicle.
Install or Connect
1. Turn/hazard relay electrical connector.
2. Turn/hazard relay to mounting bracket.
3. Relay mounting bracket to heater case; secure with two screws.
4. Close instrument panel compartment.
5. Negative (-) battery cable.
