Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair

Description:

Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
2. Disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove the clamp and the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet tube from the MAF sensor.
4. Remove the two bolts from the ACL.
5. Remove the MAF sensor from the ACL.
6. Remove the bracket from the ACL.
7. Remove the two bolts from the MAF sensor.
8. Remove the bracket from the MAF sensor.

Installation Procedure
1. Install the MAF sensor to the bracket.
2. Secure the MAF sensor with two bolts. Tighten the MAF sensor bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb. in.).
3. Install the MAF sensor and the bracket to the ACL.
4. Secure the MAF sensor to the bracket with two bolts. Tighten the MAF sensor brackets bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb. in.).
5. Connect the ACL outlet tube to the MAF sensor.
6. Secure the ACL outlet tube to the MAF sensor with one clamp.
7. Connect the MAF sensor electrical connector.
8. Connect the negative (-) battery cable. Tighten the negative (-) battery cable-to-the negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 15 Nm (11 lb. ft.).
