OD Switch

The OD switch is located on the shifter knob and allows the driver to select the overdrive gear. When the OD switch is pressed, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) receives a signal and adds a 4th gear to the shift schedule. When the OD switch is released, the PCM switches to a 3-speed shift schedule. The PCM delays the engagement of 4th gear (OD) until the engine coolant has reached an operating temperature of 30° C (86° F).
