Throttle Valve

The throttle valve takes line pressure and produces a "throttle pressure" line. The throttle pressure line is proportional to engine load (based on the opening angle of the throttle plate). The Throttle Valve (TV) cable, connects the throttle body to the throttle valve. Therefore, throttle valve moves right along with accelerator pedal.

This valve contains two springs inside. It directs throttle line pressure (proportional to throttle angle opening) to the primary regulator valve and secondary regulator valve to increase line pressure under acceleration, and decrease line pressure at idle.
