Manual Downshift

1. At a vehicle speed of 70 km/h (50 mph) with the manual selector in the Drive (D) position, the OD switch pressed, and the Power/Normal switch in Power (P) position, release the accelerator pedal, and press (to release) the OD switch. Verify that:
- Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) releases.
- Transmission downshifts immediately to 3rd gear.
- Engine slows vehicle down.
2. With the manual selector in Drive (D) position, operate vehicle at 48 km/h (30 mph). Release the accelerator pedal and move the manual selector to the Second (2) position. Verify that:
- Transmission downshifts immediately to 2nd gear.
- Engine slows vehicle down.
- If no engine braking is available, check for a faulty second coast brake.
3. With the manual selector in Drive (D) position, operate vehicle at 24 km/h (15 mph). Release the accelerator pedal and move the manual selector to the Low (L) position. Verify that:
- Transmission downshifts immediately to 1st gear.
- Engine slows vehicle down.
- If no engine braking is available, check for a faulty reverse band.
