Power Steering Pump

The power steering pump is a vane-type pump and is driven by the V-ribbed belt from the crankshaft pulley.

As the discharge rate of the power steering pump increases in proportion to the pump revolution speed, a flow control valve is utilized to control the maximum amount of fluid needed for steering operation. Within the flow control valve is a pressure relief valve which controls the maximum amount of pressure supplied to the power steering gear.
