Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor

The ECT sensor uses a thermistor to control the signal voltage to the PCM. The PCM delays the operation of 4th gear (OD) and lock-up of the torque converter clutch until the engine coolant has reached an operating temperature of 30° C (86° F).
