Vehicle Speed Sensor (Transmission)
The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) (Transmission) consists of a magnetic core with magnet and coil. The VSS (Transmission) is mounted on the transmission case. When the output shaft rotates, magnetic flux is cut by the output shaft gear teeth. This action sends a pulse which is generated in the VSS (Transmission) coil according to the speed. The pulse signal is then transmitted to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) as a speed signal.
