DIAGNOSIS

*1. Start the engine.

2. Press the AUTO button on the front A/C control panel.

3. Check for airflow from the rear upper vents and the lower vent while adjusting the front temperature control from full cold to full hot.

^ If there is any airflow from the upper vents or the lower vent, this service bulletin does not apply. Check for other possible causes.*

^ If there is no airflow, go to step 4.

4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and remove the key.

5. Move the driver's seat all the way back.

6. Remove the driver's console side trim by pulling out at the front, popping out the clips, and releasing the two tabs.

7. While wearing protective gloves, reach through the opening in the center console frame and disconnect the wire harness from the rear power transistor.

8. Locate the lock tab release at the bottom of the transistor. Push the lock tab down and toward the rear, then turn the power transistor clockwise past the lock tab.

9. Pull out the rear power transistor.

10. Measure the resistance between pins 3 and 4.

NOTE:
The power transistor temperature should be between 32°F and 130°F before measuring the resistance.

Is the resistance more than 1M Ohm (or open)?

YES - Replace the power transistor (go to REPAIR PROCEDURE).

NO - This service bulletin does not apply. Test the blower motor system for other possible causes.
