Oil Pan Removal
Removal1. If the engine is out of the vehicle, go to step 18.
2. Drain the engine oil.
3. Drain the power steering system fluid.
4. Remove the power steering (P/S) pump outlet hose from the P/S pump, and remove the P/S hose clamp.
5. Remove the steering joint cover, and make a reference mark across the steering joint and steering gearbox pinion shaft. Remove the steering joint from the steering joint pinion shaft.
6. Remove the splash shield.
7. Remove the transfer assembly.
8. Disconnect the tie-rod end ball joints.
9. Disconnect the suspension lower arm ball joints.
10. Remove the P/S hose.
11. Disconnect the power steering pressure switch connector.
12. Remove the nuts securing the transmission lower front mount and transmission lower rear mount.
13. Remove the bolt securing the rear mount.
14. Attach the chain hoist to the engine.
15. Remove the nut securing the front mount bracket.
16. Make reference marks on the body across the marks on the edge of the front subframe.
17. Remove the front subframe.
18. Remove the torque converter cover (A) and two bolts (B) securing the transmission.
19. Remove the bolts securing the oil pan.
20. Remove the oil pan.
