Audio System Whine When Using the CD Changer

SYMPTOM

A whine noise is heard through the audio system when the factory CD changer is used.

PROBABLE CAUSE

The CD changer wire harness is integrated into the left side wire harness and is picking up interference from other circuits in the harness.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Install a new CD changer harness.

DIAGNOSIS

Check that the whine noise is heard only with the engine running and while using the factory six-disc CD changer mounted under the driveseat.
