Repair Procedure

1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the radio and navigation system, then record the radio presets.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

NOTE:
Take care not to scratch the dashboard console lower cover or damage the clips.





3. Remove the front covers.

^ Start at the top, and gently pull out the center front covers.

^ Detach the clips.

^ Pull the cover out, and detach the remaining clips.

^ Remove the covers from both sides.





4. Remove the center lower cover.

^ Remove the screws.

^ Pull the cover out to detach the clips.

^ Disconnect the accessory power socket connector, the seat heater switch connectors, and the console light connector.





5. Remove the audio unit.

^ Remove the bolts.

^ Disconnect all the connectors and the antenna lead from the audio unit and the climate control unit.





6. On the driver's side of the vehicle, gently pull out the center console lower cover toward you to release the seven clips, and remove the center console lower cover.





7. Remove the driver's seat front cover by pulling it toward you. Take care not to damage the clips.





8. Route the CD changer wire harness from the dashboard opening to the driver's floor. Position the end of the CD changer wire harness 30 mm past the vehicle 20-pin connector. Secure the CD changer wire harness to the vehicle floor harness and frame with three wire ties.





9. Cut a 40 mm x 40 mm piece of cushion tape.

10. Using isopropyl alcohol, clean the area where you will attach the cushion tape. Attach one piece of cushion tape to the frame at the location shown.

11. Measure 450 mm from the end of the CD changer wire harness. Bundle the remaining harness, and secure it to the vehicle floor harness with three wire ties.





12. Near the edge of the driver's seat riser, make a 50 mm slit in the floor carpet with a utility knife. Route the CD changer wire harness under the floor carpet and out through the slit near the seat riser.

13. Cut a 50 mm x 50 mm piece of cushion tape.

14. Using isopropyl alcohol, clean the area shown, and attach the cushion tape to the edge of the frame.





15. Using a pair of diagonal cutters, carefully cut and remove the wire tie with clip that secures the left floor wire harness to the driver's seat riser on the center console side. Take care not to damage the harness when cutting the wire tie.

16. Secure the CD changer wire harness to the vehicle wire harness with a wire tie.

17. Connect the new CD changer wire harness to the CD changer.

18. Cut the CD changer connectors off both ends of the left side harness to avoid confusion in the future.

19. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly, and that all connectors are plugged in.

20. Reinstall all removed parts.

21. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.

22. Enter the customer's radio and navigation anti-theft codes, then enter the customer's radio station presets, and set the clock.

23. Start the engine, and test the CD changer.

24. Reset the power window control unit:

^ Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and make sure the driver's window AUTO function does not work.

^ Start the engine.

^ Push down the driver's window power window switch to the second detent (AUTO down) to lower the driver's window all the way down. When the window reaches the bottom, hold the switch in the AUTO down position for 2 more seconds.

^ Pull up the driver's power window switch to raise the driver's window all the way up without stopping. When the window reaches the top, hold the switch in the up position for 2 more seconds.

^ If the driver's window AUTO function does not work, repeat this power window control unit reset procedure.
