Security System - Programming
Accord SecuritySystem Programming
Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to reprogram a '90-91 Accord Security System. In case you don't have a copy of the Security System Owner's Manual, here's an explanation of the programming controls:
The glass breakage sensitivity control is located on the front panel of the main unit (underneath the seat). It's preset at the factory, but can be readjusted. Turn the control clockwise to increase the sensitivity or counter-clockwise to decrease the sensitivity.
The rest of the switches are located under the access cover on the main unit, as shown. The underlined settings are the factory settings.
The alarm duration, exit time delay, and entry time delay switches are all pretty self-explanatory.
The mode switch allows you to select one of two arming modes - manual (activated by remote control), or automatic (activated when the doors are closed and the key is removed).
By the way, in AUTO mode, you can still arm/disarm the system with the remote. But once armed manually, the entry delay is canceled. Therefore, unless you remember to disarm the system with the remote, the alarm will sound immediately when you open the door.
When the sensor cancellation switch is ON, a tripped sensor will sound the alarm for a maximum of 10 minutes. The alarm will then reset and cancel that particular sensor signal, though all other sensors remain functional. In the OFF position, any sensor capable of sounding the alarm indefinitely.
