Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

1. Use a Refrigerant Recovery/Recycling System to recover the refrigerant from the system.







2. Temporarily remove the radiator reservoir tank and intake tube, then remove the suction hose bracket.







3. Remove the front grille.

NOTE: Remove the boss as shown.







4. Disconnect the connector from the radiator fan. Remove the four mounting bolts and remove the radiator fan shroud.

CAUTION: Do not damage the radiator fins when removing the fan shroud.







5. Disconnect the connectors from the condenser fan, and remove the connector from the compressor. Remove the three mounting bolts and remove the condenser fan shroud.

CAUTION: Do not damage the radiator fins when removing the fan shroud.







6. Remove the radiator upper mount brackets.







7. Disconnect the condenser line and discharge line from the condenser.

CAUTION: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture and dirt out of the system.







8. Remove the two mounting nuts and condenser.

CAUTION:
- Do not damage the radiator fins when removing the condenser.
- Be careful not to drop the mounting nuts.

9. Install in the reverse order of removal, and:
- Do not damage the radiator and condenser.
- Replace 0-rings with new ones at the pipe joints, and apply a thin coat of refrigerant oil before installing them.
- Charge the system and test the performance.
