Torque Specifications

Cylinder Head Tightening Procedures

Tighten the cylinder head bolts sequentially in 3 steps. Perform each step twice.
- 1st step torque: 39 Nm (4.0 kgf-m, 29 ft. lbs.)
- 2nd step torque: 69 Nm (7.0 kgf-m, 51 ft. lbs.)
- 3rd step torque: 98.1 Nm (10.0 kgf-m, 72.3 ft. lbs.)
- Use a beam-type torque wrench. When using a preset-type torque wrench, be sure to tighten slowly and not to overtighten. If a bolt makes any noise while you are torquing it, loosen the bolt, and retighten it from the 1st step.

Intake Manifold:

Intake Manifold and Components

Camshaft Cap Bolts

Specified torque:
8 X 1.25 mm
24 Nm (2.4 kgf.m, 17 ft. lbs.)
Apply engine oil to the bolt threads and flange

Main Bearing Torque and Sequence

- Torque the bearing cap bolts (A), then torque the bearing cap side bolts (B). Follow the numbered sequence shown.

Connecting Rod Bolt

Apply engine oil to the bolt threads. Torque the bolts (B) to 20 Nm (2.0 kgf-m, 14 ft. lbs.).

Mark the connecting rod (A) and bolt head (B).
Tighten the bolt until the mark on the bolt head lines up with the mark on the connecting rod (turn the bolt 90°).

Crankshaft Pulley

- Tighten the bolt to 245 Nm (25.0 kgf.m, 181 ft. lbs.). Do not use an impact wrench.
