A-Pillar Exterior Trim Replacement

NOTE:
- Keep dust away from the working area.
- When working at lower temperatures, heat the trim and panel with a hair dryer.
Panel: About 59°F (15°C)
Trim: About 86°F (30°C)
- When heating the trim, heat it evenly and gradually to prevent deformation.
- When pressing the trim, slowly press it from the corner to prevent air bubbles and wrinkles.
- If there are air bubbles in the trim, peel up the trim, then reapply it.

1. The following tools are required to replace the trim:
- Plastic squeegee
- Alcohol
- Sponge or Shop towel
- Hair dryer

2. Remove the A-pillar exterior trim panel.
3. Slowly peel up the old trim while heating it with a hair dryer.
4. Clean the panel bonding surface with a sponge dampened in alcohol. After cleaning, keep oil, grease, and water from getting on the surface.




5. Attach the trim. To prevent air bubbles, slowly press the trim around the corner.
1. Peel the edge of the adhesive backing from the trim.
2. Fit the trim to the panel.
3. Apply the trim to the panel while peeling the adhesive backing from it a little at a time. Check that the trim is parallel with the panel.
4. Push firmly on the trim with a plastic squeegee (felt side). Press in the numbered sequence.

6. Check that the body color on the panel is covered by the trim properly.
7. Reinstall the panel.
