Drive Belt: Service and Repair
Drive Belt ReplacementJ35Z2 engine
1. Seta socket wrench in to the drive belt auto-tensioner (A), and slowly turn the wrench in the direction shown, then remove the drive belt.
NOTE: This is a hydraulic type auto-tensioner, so you must move the wrench slowly.
2. Install the new belt in the reverse order of removal.
Special Tools Required
Belt tension release tool Snap-on YA9317 or equivalent, commercially available.
J35Z3 engine
1. Move the auto-tensioner (A) using the belt tension release tool to relieve tension from the drive belt, then remove the drive belt.
2. Install the new belt in the reverse order of removal.
