PARTS INFORMATION

SERVICE PROCEDURE:

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal from the battery assembly.

2. Remove the junction box cover (B).

3. Unfasten the 4 junction box mounting bolts (C) with a 10 mm socket.

4. Unfasten the 2 mounting nuts (D) and disconnect the 2 junction box positive battery terminals with a 10 mm socket.

5. Remove the 3 junction box mounting nuts (E) with a 10 mm socket.

6. Disengage the junction box clips (F).

7. Remove the junction box body (C).

8. Release the "U/H-D" (D) AND "U/H-B" (B) connector locks and
disconnect the connectors (B, D).

9. Remove the wire tie and connector cover (J).

10. Remove the wire harness tape, leaving about 4 inches of exposed wires.

11. Identify pin no. 39 and 45 on the U/H-B connector.

12. From the back side of the U/H-B connector identify the wire leading to pin no. 39 (gray) and pin no. 45 (blue with a black trace) and cut the wires as close to the terminal pin as possible.

13. Identify pin no. 6 and 12 on the U/H-D connector.

14. From the backside of the U/H-D connector identify the wire leading to pin no. 6 (blue with a black trace) and pin no. 12 (gray) and cut the wires as close to the terminal pin as possible.

15. Remove 1/4 of insulation from the ends of each disconnected wire.

16. Cut the 6 inch heat shrink tube into two 3 inch pieces. Insert one piece of heat shrink tubing (M) over one of the gray wires and one of the blue wires with a black trace.

17. Insert one gray wire into the 18-22 gauge (red) butt connector and secure the wire using a crimping tool. Insert the second gray wire into the butt connector and secure the wire using a crimping tool.

18. Repeat on the blue wire with a black trace.

19. Move the heat-shrink tube over the butt connectors and apply heat to the heat-shrink tube evenly.

20. Engage the connector cover (0) with both connectors.

21. Apply harness tape or insulating tape over the open wires on both connectors and both heat-shrink tubes.

NOTE:
Make sure to leave slack so the joined wires and the butt connectors can be routed within the junction box.

22. Connect the connectors to the junction box, and place the joint wires in the groove(R) on the junction box to avoid interference.

23. Installation is in reverse order of removal.
