SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE: STEERING RACK MOUNTING BOLTS TIGHTENING TORQUE
DESCRIPTION:
This bulletin provides tightening torques for the SANTA FE (CM) power steering gear box mounting bolts for use when servicing/repairing the steering rack (gear box). Some service manuals may not contain the correct specifications.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
Models: 2007 ~ 2009 Santa Fe (CM)
Affected Vehicle Production Date Range: All
TORQUES:
1. (Right Side - A) Vehicles equipped with the "T7" steering gear box mounting bolt (J). Torque these bolts to the following specification: 43~58 lbf-ft (58~79 N-m, 6~8 kgf-m)
(P/N: 11241-12306K - Bolt).
2. (Right Side - A) Vehicles equipped with the ��T10�� steering gear box mounting bolt (K). Torque these bolts to the following specification: 65.1~79.6 lbf-ft (90~110 N-m, 9~11 kgf-m)
(P/N: 11242-12306K - Bolt).
3. (Left Side - B) - 65.1~79.6 lbf-ft (90~110 N-m, 9~11 kgf-m)
4. Do not tighten the "T7" bolt to "T10" specifications. Overtightening may cause the bolt to fail.
NOTE:
No change to the left side mounting bolts (B). Torque specification stated in the service manual: 65.1~79.6 lbf-ft (90~110 N-m, 9~11 kgf-m).
