Engine Control Module: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT

CAUTION:
- In the case of the Vehicle equipped with immobilizer, problem "KEY TEACHING" procedure together.
- When replacing an PCM, the VIN must be programmed in the P W If then, is no VIN in PCM memory, the fault code (DTC P0630) is set.


1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.




2. Remove the cover of the PCM & relay box (A).




3. Disconnect the PCM connectors (A).
4. Unscrew the PCM bracket mounting bolt (8) and the nuts (C), and then remove the PCM.
5. Install a new PCM.

PCM installation bolts (on bracket) : 9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lbf.ft)
PCM bracket installation bolt/nuts: 9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lbf.ft)

6. Perform 'Key Teaching' procedure.
7. Input the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
