NOTICE OF CHANGE TO RADIO FLOAT PROGRAM FOR ACCESSORY NAVIGATION SYSTEM
DESCRIPTION
Some 2008 and 2009 Azera, Santa Fe, and Veracruz vehicles come equipped with an accessory in-dash navigation system.
These navigation systems utilize an 8 Gb Compact Flash (CF) card to store the map data.
This bulletin is being provided to inform Hyundai dealers that the remanufactured float radios will no longer be shipped with the map data CF cards. Therefore, when servicing the radio, the map data CF card from the original radio must be transferred to the replacement float radio.
Note:
If the map data CF card is not transferred from the customer's original radio to the replacement float radio, the navigation system will be inoperative.
PROCEDURE:
To remove the Compact Flash card from the customer's original radio, follow these steps:
1. Turn the radio ON and press the "OPEN" button.
Note:
If the radio is inoperative and the "OPEN" button does not respond, the front panel can be lowered by firmly grasping the front panel and pulling it down and out.
2. With the front panel down, remove the Compact Flash compartment door by loosening the (2) 2.5mm hex-head screws.
Note:
To avoid damaging the LCD display, DO NOT use an L-shaped hex-head wrench. Instead, use a hex-head screwdriver.
3. With the door now removed, push in the card release button as shown and remove card.
TO INSTALL THE COMPACT FLASH CARD INTO THE REPLACEMENT RADIO, FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
1. Insert the Compact Flash card into the replacement radio.
Press in firmly to ensure good contact.
2. Re-install the Compact Flash compartment door.
3. Test the radio and navigation system.
4. Procedure complete.
