Component Inspection

1. Check PTG
1. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF" & PTG "ON"
2. Disconnect "PTG module" connector.
3. Measure voltage between sensing terminal of PTG and chassis ground.
A. Specification : Approx. 5V




4. Is the measured voltage within specifications ?
YES
1) Go to "Check optical sensor" procedure.
NO
1) Substitute with a known-good PTG and check for proper operation.If the problem is corrected, replace PTG and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
2. Check optical sensor
1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF" & PTG "ON"
3. Substitute with a known-good optical sensor and Check if the DTC is erased
4. Is the DTC erased ?
YES
1) Substitute with a known-good optical sensor and check for proper operation.
If the problem is corrected, replace optical sensor and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
NO
1) Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
