Component Inspection





Component Inspection

1. Check latch switch
1. Ignition "OFF" & engine "OFF"
2. Disconnect latch switch
3. Connect (+) terminal of battery to terminal 1 of latch switch and (-) terminal to terminal 2 of latch switch
4. Connect (+) terminal of battery to terminal 2 of latch switch and (-) terminal to terminal 1 of latch switch.
A. Specification :Approx. ON -> 500 Ohms, OFF -> 6.2 kOhms ± 5%




5. Dose the latch motor work properly ?
YES
1) Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "PTG module inspection" procedure.
NO
1) Substitute with a known-good drive unit and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace drive unit and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
2. Check the "PTG module"
1. Ignition "ON" & engine "OFF"
2. Disconnect LATCH & CINCH #2 connector.
3. Measure the voltage between power terminal for UNLATCH MOTOR of PTG module and chassis ground.
A. Specification :Approx.9 - 16V




4. Is the measured voltage within specifications ?
YES
1) Check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
NO
1) Substitute with a known-good "PTG module" and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace "PTG module" and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
