W/Harness Inspection

Terminal and Connector Inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found ?
YES
> Repair or replace if necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
NO
> Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Ground Circuit inspection

Check open in harness
1. IG "OFF" and disconnect MAFS connector and then IG "ON".
2. Measure voltage between signal terminal of MAFS harness connector and chassis ground (Measurement "A")
3. Measure voltage between signal and ground terminals of MAFS harness connector (Measurement "B")
A. Specification : Voltage difference between Measurement "A" and "B" is below 200 mV.

4. Is the measured voltage within the specification ?
YES
> Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.
NO
> After repairing or replacing open or contact resistance in ground harness, go to "Verification and Vehicle Repair".
