DESCRIPTION:
This bulletin describes Veracruz power tail gate (PTG) operation. The chart above shows the PTG opening/closing operations.
This chart can be used for diagnosis of power tail gate (PTG) operation.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
Model: All Veracruz (EN) equipped with a power tail gate.
SWITCH LOCATIONS
NOTE:
When the power ON/OFF switch is off (not depressed), the power tail gate cannot be controlled with tail gate switch or tail gate handle switch. However, the tail gate can still be controlled with key fob or main switch.
NOTE:
If vehicle is equipped with Smart Key (PIC), the local switch (Tail Gate Switch/Tail Gate Handle Switch) will always open the PTG when the Smart Key is in proximity of the rear bumper antenna (except as below). During this operation the lights will flash and the chime will sound.
NOTE:
Some BCM's allow the Power Tail Gate Option Status to be changed using the BCM User Option section of GDS. The factory default setting is "Disabled".
