Front Subframe: Service and Repair
Replacement
1. Loosen the wheel nuts slightly.
Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
2. Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from the front hub (B).
Tightening torque :
88.3 - 107.9N.m (9.0 - 11.0kgf.m, 65.1 - 79.6lb-ft)
CAUTION:
Be careful not to damage to the hub bolts (C) when removing the front wheel and tire (A).
3. Remove the front stabilizer link (A) from the strut assembly.
Tightening torque :
98.1 - 117.7N.m (10.0 - 12.0kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8lb-ft)
4. Remove the split pin and front lower arm mounting bolt (B) from the knuckle (A).
Tightening torque :
98.1 - 117.7N.m (10.0 - 12.0kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8lb-ft)
5. Remove the under cover (A).
6. Remove the rubber hanger (A).
7. Remove the protector (A).
Tightening torque :
4 - 6Nm (0.4 - 0.6kgf.m, 2.9 - 4.3lb-ft)
8. Loosen the bolt & nut and then remove the pressure hose (A).
9. Loosen the mounting bolt and then remove the steering gear box (A).
Tightening torque :
90 - 110Nm (9.0 - 11.0kgf.m, 65 - 72lb-ft)
10. Loosen the front roll stopper mounting bolt (A,B).
Tightening torque :
Bolt(A) : 49.0 - 63.7N.m (5.0 - 6.5kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0lb-ft)
Bolt(B) : 78.5 - 98.1N.m (8.0 - 10.0kgf.m, 57.9 - 72.3lb-ft)
11. Loosen the rear roll stopper mounting bolt (A).
Tightening torque :
Bolt(A) : 49.0 - 63.7N.m (5.0 - 6.5kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0lb-ft)
12. Remove the sub frame stay mounting bolts (A), nuts (B) and the sub frame mounting bolts (C) by supporting it with a jack.
Tightening torque :
Bolt(A) : 68.6 - 88.3 N.m (7.0 - 9.0kgf.m, 50.6 - 65.1lb-ft)
Nut(B) : 68.6 - 88.3 N.m (7.0 - 9.0kgf.m, 50.6 - 65.1lb-ft)
Bolt(C) : 137.3 - 156.9N.m (14 - 16kgf.m, 101.3 - 115.7lb-ft)
13. Remove the sub frame (A).
14. Remove the stabilizer bar & lower arm.
15. Installation is the reverse of removal.
16. After installation, bleed the power steering system.
17. Check the alignment.
