A/T - Valve Body Bolt Installation Precautions

Group: TRANSAXLE
Number: 93-40-015-1
Date: OCTOBER, 1993
Model: EXCEL

Subject:
EXCEL LOWER VALVE BODY

DESCRIPTION

Damper Clutch Control Valve may stick in the bore because of incorrect oil filter retaining bolt installation.

Should a 22 mm bolt be installed in position C, it would bottom in the bore and displace the aluminum, causing an out of round condition in the Damper Clutch Control Valve Bore.

To prevent this condition, positions A&B should be fitted with 22 mm length bolts and positions C&D should be fitted with 16 mm length bolts.
