INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR

Description
The intake air temperature sensor, located at the illustrated position on volume air flow sensor, is a resistor-based sensor for detecting the intake air temperature.
According to the intake air temperature information from the sensor, the engine control module provides necessary fuel injection amount control.

Troubleshooting Hint
The intake air temperature sensor senses the intake air temperature in the air cleaner to indicate a temperature different from outside temperature.

Harness Inspection Procedures

Sensor Inspection

1. Disconnect the volume air flow sensor connectors.





2. Measure resistance between terminals 4 and 6.

Sensor Test:

3. Measure resistance while heating the sensor using a hair drier.





4. If the value deviates from the standard value or the resistance remains unchanged, replace the volume air flow sensor assembly.
