SCOUPE AIR CONDITIONING DISCHARGE HOSE SERVICE CAMPAIGN
This bulletin provides the replacement procedures for the Scoupe A/C discharge hose. The discharge hose (with aluminum fittings) will be replaced with a new discharge hose with steel fittings.
Please refer to Section 97, Air Conditioning System, Volume 2 of the 1994 Scoupe Shop Manual for additional service and repair information.
SERVICE PROCEDURES:
1) Recover the R134a refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to instructions in the shop manual and be certain to utilize the appropriate refrigerant recovery equipment.
2) Remove the 12 mm nut, which secures the discharge hose to the discharge pipe (fitting-1, See Figure 1). Disconnect the fitting. Remove the bolt which secures the discharge hose to the compressor (fitting-2, See Figure 1). Disconnect the fitting.
3) Remove and discard the discharge hose with aluminum fittings and replace with the new hose with steel fittings. Ensure the fitting 0-rings are lubricated with PAG oil and properly seated.
4) Reconnect compressor to discharge hose fitting-2.
Tightening torque: 20-3O N-m (200-300 kg-cm, 14-22 lb.ft.).
5) Add 15cc (0.5 US Fl.Oz). refrigerant oil through fitting-1 of the discharge hose and immediately connect it to the discharge pipe fitting.
Refrigerant Oil: PAG oil FD46XG or equivalent
Tightening Torque: 10-15 N-m (100-150 kg-cm, 7 - 11 lb.ft.).
6) Evacuate and recharge the A/C system with 700 grams (1.5 lbs.) of R134a refrigerant. (Refer to the shop manual)
7) Check the fittings for refrigerant leakage with an electronic leak detector. (Refer to the shop manual).

Open the driver's door and place a punch mark over the 9th character on the identification plate located on the B-Pillar. This will indicate that the campaign procedures have been completed.
