Fuel Pressure Release: Service and Repair

To avoid fuel spillage during fuel system repairs reduce the internal pressure of the fuel pipes and hoses by completing the following operations.
- Disconnect the fuel pump harness connector at the rear of the fuel tank.
- Start the engine and after it stalls, turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
- Make necessary repairs or service.
- Reconnect the fuel pump harness and battery after making repairs and check for leaks.
