Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Description and Operation

PURPOSE/OPERATION
The intake air volume at idle is controlled by opening or closing the motor valve provided in the air path that bypasses the throttle valve. The idle speed control motor maintains idle speed by compensating for loads placed on the engine. The system adjusts the idle for air conditioning and automatic transmission loads and provides fast idle during cold start.
