1995 SONATA FUEL GAUGE ACCURACY FIELD FIX
DESCRIPTION:
Some vehicles may exhibit one of the following symptoms:
1) The fuel gauge needle points to the "E" mark on the fuel gauge when 4 to 5 gallons of fuel remain in the fuel tank.
2) The low fuel indicator light does not illuminate when the fuel gauge approaches the "E" mark.
CORRECTION:
A field fix extension wire is now available to correct the symptoms described above.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
1) Turn the ignition key to the "Off" position.
2) Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
3) Disconnect connector M-55 (fuel sender connector), located near the rear of the fuel tank.
4) Install the 1995 Sonata Fuel Sender Extension Wire (P/N 00300-B51 00) between the vehicle harness and the fuel sender connectors.
5) Secure the extension wire to the vehicle harness using a tie-wrap or electrical tape.
6) Verify fuel gauge operation.
