TRANSAXLE OIL COOLER FOR THE
1995 SONATA 2.0L

DESCRIPTION:

This bulletin contains a parts list and installation instructions for an optional transaxle oil cooler for the 1995 Sonata equipped with the 2.0L engine, (the cooler is standard on the 3.0L).

This option is ONLY to be considered for vehicles that are used for trailer towing or other severe usage conditions, and is NOT recommended for vehicles used for normal driving. No additional cooling is necessary in normal operation.





PARTS INFORMATION:

INSTALLATION PROCEDURES:

1. Remove battery and battery tray.

2. Remove resonator and air duct.

3. Remove turn signal lamps (both sides).

4. Remove grill.





5. Remove transaxle cooling hose, and discard (PRESSURE SIDE ONLY, SEE DIAGRAM).

6. Remove upper radiator mounting brackets and tilt the radiator toward the engine to perform the following steps.

7. Remove radiator reservoir.

8. Install cooler assembly P/N 25460-34100 to existing threaded mounting holes in core support, using 3 bolts P/N 11300-08251, 3 oil cooler mounting collars P/N 25461-36700, and 3 rubber isolators P/N 25462-36700.

9. Insert the tube assembly P/N 25428-34000 into the bumper area from the engine side, then securely tighten into place using 3 mounting bolts P/N 11293-06143 (see diagram for locations).

10. Install cooler hoses # 1 thru # 4 (see diagram for proper routing) and secure with hose clamps P/N 25331-24215.

11. Re-install components in reverse order of removal steps 1 thru 7.

12. Install tie strap to secure return hose and hose # 2 to lower radiator hose.

13. Start the vehicle and fill transaxle with ATF to the specified level. Check for leaks.
