HARNESS TEST
COMPONENT TEST
NOTE: An analog-type ammeter should be used.
1. Connect the negative (-) terminal of the 3.0 volt power supply to terminal 2 of the power transistor; then check whether there is continuity between terminal #3 and terminal #1 when terminal #1 and the positive (+) terminal of the 3.0 volt power supply is connected and disconnected.
NOTE: Connect the negative (-) terminal of the ammeter to terminal #5.
1. Measure the resistance between the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the ignition coil.
Standard Value: 0.8 ± .08 Ohms
2. Measure the resistance between the ignitions coil's positive (+) terminal and the high voltage terminal/
Standard Value: 12.1 ± 1.8 K ohms
3. If the ignition coil fails any of these tests replace it.
