Removal and Installation
Fig. 3 Master Cylinder Assembly:
1. Disconnect electrical connector from fluid level switch, if equipped, Fig. 3.
2. Disconnect brake lines from master cylinder and plug open ports.
3. Remove master cylinder mounting nuts, disconnect proportioning valve mounting bracket, if equipped, then remove master cylinder from vehicle.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Tighten master cylinder mounting nuts and brake lines to specifications.
b. Check brake booster pushrod clearance, and adjust if necessary.
Fig. 5 Master Cylinder Assembly:
1. Disconnect connector from fluid level switch, Fig. 5.
2. Remove line nuts, then detach brake lines from master cylinder. Do not remove proportioning valves from cylinder.
3. Remove master cylinder.
These master cylinders cannot be serviced, however, the reservoir and proportioning valves may be replaced. Remove reservoir by first removing retaining pin.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Tighten master cylinder mounting nuts and brake lines to specifications.
