PISTON RING INSTALLATION
DESCRIPTION:
Piston rings must be installed as illustrated. Please refer to the shop manual for additional information concerning piston ring installation.
The # 1 ring is a barrel ring that is copper/bronze in color and also should be installed with the "Y" mark facing up.
The # 2 ring is a tapered ring that is black in color. It should be installed with the "Y" make facing up.
Ring end gap location should be spaced as shown in the service manual.
