Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable: Testing and Inspection

Note: If as a result of the following checks, even one abnormal point is discovered, replace the clock spring with a new one.





1. Check connectors and protective tube for damage, and terminals for deformities.

2. Visually check the case and the gears for damage.








3. Check for continuity between No.1 connector of the clock spring and connectors No.2 and 3.





4. Check of resistance between the terminals.
(1) Join the No. 5 connector of the clock spring to the SRS checker.
(2) Check continuity between terminals 1 and 2 of the SRS checker.

Limit: No continuity

(3) Insert the clip edges into the inflator shown in figure, and check continuity between terminals 1 and 2.
