Shift Cable: Service and Repair

1. Remove console box.

2. Disconnect cable from lever by removing self lock pin, Fig. 7.
3. Remove outer cable clip from cable support on shifter assembly.
4. Raise and support vehicle, then remove cable support bolts and nuts.
5. Lower vehicle, then disconnect cable from transaxle and remove cable from vehicle.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Place shift lever and Park Neutral Position (PNP) switch in Neutral position.
b. Connect cable to shift lever, then install and tighten all outer cable mounts and guides.
c. Pull on inner cable to ensure all slack is removed, then connect cable to PNP switch arm, loosen and move adjustment pin on PNP switch arm if necessary to ensure slack free installation.
