DESCRIPTION:

Beginning with the 1995 model year, Sonatas with 3.0L engines are equipped with F4A33 transaxles, rather than the KM177 used in previous model years. The purpose of this bulletin is to alert you of a change that effects the R&R process of the F4A33 transaxle.

For better load distribution, the Torque Converter Fastener quantity has been increased from 3 to 4. In order to prevent damage to the Drive Plate, Torque Converter, Front Pump and/or Seal, make certain you have removed all 4 fasteners prior to removing the transaxle.

Components are not interchangeable between the KM177 and the F4A33 transaxles.
