Rocker Arm Assembly: Service and Repair

1. Remove breather hose and PCV valve.
2. Remove timing belt cover.
3. Remove rocker cover.
4. Loosen flange bolts, then remove rocker arm shaft, rocker arms and rocker arm shaft springs as an assembly.
5. Remove bolts, rocker arms and rocker arm shaft springs from rocker arm shaft.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Check rotation of roller. Replace it if worn.
b. Check rocker face. Replace it if damaged or pressed.
c. Check hydraulic lash adjuster (HLA) face that contacts valve stem. If badly worn or damaged, replace HLA.
d. Check rocker arm shafts for damage. Replace as necessary.
e. Check oil hole whether clogged or not.
f. Tighten nuts and bolts to specifications.
