Removal
With timing belt removed, avoid turning camshaft or crankshaft. If movement is required, exercise extreme caution to avoid valve damage caused by piston contact.1. Loosen water pump pulley bolt.
2. Loosen alternator bolt.
3. Remove water pump pulley and belt.
4. Remove crankshaft pulley.
5. Remove timing belt cover.
6. Move timing belt tensioner pulley toward water pump, and temporarily secure it.
7. Remove timing belt from camshaft sprocket.
8. Remove camshaft sprocket.
9. Remove timing belt. If timing belt is reused, make an arrow mark indicating turning direction (or front of engine) to ensure belt is reinstalled in the same direction as before.
10. Remove crankshaft sprocket and flange.
11. Remove timing belt tensioner.
